The Kardashians have finally reached the beginning of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson’s relationship, which began last fall. While Davidson did not appear on camera during the first season of the show and will not appear again, Kim made her first reference to him in this week’s episode.
It’s a telling look at why their friendship evolved into the serious partnership it is now after Kim’s tenure hosting Saturday Night Live. (Davidson was practically branded with Kim’s name and has many tattoos in her honor.)
The episode covered the end of October, featuring Kim and Davidson holding hands at Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Park, California, over Halloween weekend. People reported at the time that the hand-holding was completely platonic. “They hang out in the same circles, so they’ll run into each other occasionally,” a source stated at the time. “It’s merely a gathering of buddies.”
Kardashian explained why things with her ex-husband Kanye West weren’t working out early in the show.
“Khloé’s like, ‘I don’t know if I’m ready for single Kim,” her sister Kourtney Kardashian told her. Kim inquired as to why and what “single Kim” actually meant. Kourtney then inquired about West’s situation.
“He said in an interview last night that SNL got me to claim I divorced him,” he said. “I came prepared with my monologue, which irritated him,” Kim responded. “I also showed him the monologue, but he stated that he had never read it.” He simply did not read the content, and Kanye had a difficult time absorbing what I said. “I haven’t signed the divorce papers,” he said.
“What exactly is he waiting for?” Kourtney had inquired.
“I’m not sure.” I frequently inquire about him. He claims he will, then says, “Well, I don’t want a divorce, therefore I’m not signing it.” “I’m quite certain now,” Kim stated of her intention to divorce West. “When I filed, I knew it had to be done because I simply knew that wasn’t the appropriate scenario for me, and now I feel great.”
Davidson was mentioned at Kris Jenner’s birthday celebration when Scott Disick asked Kim, “How was last night?” referring to the Knott’s Scary Farm adventure.
“I was preoccupied,” Kim joked.
“I see,” Scott said, laughing as well. “I read all the comments and everyone says, ‘The guy is f*cking lovely,'” he said, alluding to Davidson.
Kim described him as “perhaps the loveliest, nicest human being on the earth.”
“But aren’t you just enjoying yourself?” Disick inquired.
“I’ll tell you guys later,” Kim said while they were on camera, smirking. “We’ll discuss afterward.”
Kim is recorded texting with a wide grin on her face in a different confessional. “Who are you messaging, Kim?” a producer inquired.
“Leave me alone,” she answered, laughing.
The producer continued, “That’s a big smile.” “Does his name have anything to do with feet?”
Kim simply smiled and chuckled.
Even though Davidson isn’t on camera, Kim told Variety earlier this year that the family’s reality show will describe how her romance with him began. “How we met, who reached out to who, how it happened, and all the minutiae that everyone wants to know,” she’ll say. I’m willing to discuss, and I’m willing to explain.”
